T90 SUMMIT™ HOP PELLETS - 1 kG
Bred by the American Dwarf Hop Association and released in 2003, Summit™ is a cross between Lexus and an unspecified male derived from numerous hops including Zeus, Nugget and male USDA varieties. It is the first dwarf hop to be bred for production in the United States. Summit™ is mainly used as a bittering hop, but does have earthy aromatic characteristics and subtle hints of citrus. Aroma: Specific aroma descriptors include pepper, incense, anise, orange, pink grapefruit and tangerine.
WHAT ARE HOP PELLETS?
To obtain hop pellets, dried cones are milled and compressed until the typical cylindrical shape is obtained. 90 kg of pellets are obtained from 100 kg of hop cones, hence the name T90. Weight loss is caused by a small reduction in moisture content and plant matter. This solution offers some advantages compared to cones, including greater aroma extraction efficiency, lower wort losses, compactness and greater stability during storage.
