Malt extract is obtained by concentrating wort obtained from malted cereals (mainly barley and wheat) and is available in both liquid and powder forms as well as many varieties: light, amber, and dark. Liquid extract (or syrup) contains about 20% water. The malt powder (dry) can be easily dosed and leftovers can be stored for a long time.
