Spindasol SB1 is a special 30% concentration silica sol in colloidal solution.
Thanks to its chemical-physical qualities, Spindasol SB1 acts rapidly and selectively at a dosage between 15 and 30 g/hL and with short contact times in the whirlpool.
It is particularly suitable for the quick setting of the hot trub in the whirlpool.
Uses:
- add it in the warm wort before the whirpool phase,
- add it in the beer, within the maturation tank.

Spindasol SB1 is a special 30% silica sol in colloidal solution. It is suitable for clarifying the hot must in the whirlpool by means of a rapid sedimentation of the trub, a complex that forms during boiling, consisting of agglomerates of proteins, tannins and hop polyphenols.
Depending on its chemical-physical qualities, Spindasol SB1 acts quickly and selectively at dosages between 15 and 30 g/hl, and with short contact times in the whirlpool. The floccules that are formed, due to the reaction between the silica sol and the turbidities that have opposite electric charges, have a high specific weight, sediment with a sustained speed and form a compact cone in the center of the whirlpool.
The use of Spindasol SB1 provides numerous advantages, all linked to obtaining a must with a low trub content; the use of the clarifier allows less loss of must and a better progress of the fermentation.
Thanks to the treatment with Spindasol SB1, the "green beer" is clearer and has excellent filterability. Spindasol SB1 has no effect on foam stability and complies with the Reinheitsgebot, the "Bavarian Beer Purity Law". Spindasol SB1 can also be used when the trub separation takes place by centrifugation and is used on beer in the maturation tank, with excellent results.
